Oriel asked to design a bespoke butler tray for Hell’s Kitchen
The popular TV programme Hell’s Kitchen needed a strong good looking tray for the waiters to take from Marco Pierre White to the guests’ table. Oriel’s hardwood butler tray was the perfect solution, but the extra large plates used for service meant that 2 plates could not be placed side by side on the tray.
For such a busy restaurant, it would be impossible to take one plate at a time, so Oriel extended the length of the tray to accommodate 2 plates.

All of our products are made by craftsmen here in the UK - the sizes and designs are our standard range but we can and do frequently design and make bespoke items.

In 1913, Woodcote Park near Epsom racecourse, was purchased by the RAC as a Country Club. Located on the site of a twelfth century abbey, it was a mansion built in 1679 by Richard Evelyn (brother of diarist John), and mentioned in his diaries by Samuel Pepys.
At Woodcote, you will find our butler’s tray in all three sizes: Standard Butlers Tray, Breakfast Tray and Tea/Coffee Tray. The client’s choice to use the full range of Oriel hardwood trays was apparently based on their classic design, craftsmanship, tradition and impeccable standards of service!
